Periodic and Spectral MPC

  • Spectral MPC
  • Recent work on power converters has shown that frequency information can be incorporated into an MPC optimization problem for the purpose of reducing the harmonics level in an output signal. Yet most of the proposed strategies are based on incorporating frequency features in the cost of an MPC optimization problem. Subsequently no theoretical guarantees can be made on the satisfaction of frequency bounds along the closed-loop trajectory. We develop a novel MPC method that allows one to enforce hard constraints on system’s output spectra. Invariance of the frequency constraints is proven, which ensures recursive feasibility of the proposed MPC scheme. We are now interested in theoretical aspects (robustness) and practical aspects (implementation of frequency MPC on a real system).
